Tijd vormt ons, net zoals het de wereld om ons heen vormt. Het verzacht herinneringen, verdiept ervaringen en geeft vorm aan onze identiteit, zichtbaar én onzichtbaar. Sculpted by Time is een reflectie op deze voortdurende transformatie. Deze solo-expositie brengt fotografie en sculptuur samen in een verkenning van de menselijke ervaring. Van intieme portretten tot monumentale bronzen beelden, steeds opnieuw staat de wisselwerking tussen individu en collectief centraal. Door fotografie ving ik de gezichten van anderen, spiegels waarin ik op zoek ging naar sporen van mezelf. Gezichten vol mysterie, kwetsbaarheid en kracht, die verborgen waarheden onthulden. De vrouwelijke vorm, gevierd, onderzocht en opnieuw verbeeld, werd een rode draad in mijn werk. Een zoektocht naar het vrouwelijke in al haar complexiteit. In The Ones krijgt verbinding een tastbare vorm. Bronzen figuren, soms verstrengeld, soms afzonderlijk, maar altijd in dialoog, verbeelden de zichtbare en onzichtbare draden die ons met elkaar verweven. ✨ De afgelopen negen maanden heb ik intensief gewerkt aan mijn grootste werk tot nu toe: SWAY. Deze acht meter hoge sculptuur ontstond uit een diep persoonlijke en artistieke reis. Het realiseren van dit monumentale beeld was een fysiek, mentaal en emotioneel uitdagend proces , een enorme onderneming die ik nu met trots met jullie deel. SWAY is voor mij het hart van deze tentoonstelling en belichaamt alles waar mijn werk de afgelopen jaren naartoe heeft geleid. Midden in deze reis staat dus SWAY, het hart van de tentoonstelling. Een acht meter hoge figuur houdt een schommel vast, een object dat zowel speels als diepgaand is. De schommel, zwevend in stilte, nodigt uit tot beweging. Het vraagt om deelname, om overgave aan het ritme. Tussen het gewicht van het verleden en de lichtheid van het heden, tussen aarding en vlucht, creëert SWAY een ruimte voor reflectie, vrijheid en het herontdekken van het kind in onszelf. Deze tentoonstelling, die loopt t/m 8 juni, nodigt uit tot reflectie: hoe vormt tijd ons, zowel fysiek als mentaal? Hoe worden herinneringen en ervaringen verankerd in materie en kunst? Hoogtepunten van de tentoonstelling SWAY – 8 meter hoge interactieve sculptuur Dit monumentale werk nodigt je uit om letterlijk onderdeel van de kunst te worden. De schommel die het serene personage draagt, symboliseert de balans tussen controle en overgave, tussen speelsheid en volwassenheid. Fotografie en bronzen sculpturen In de galerie worden verstilde momenten van introspectie tentoongesteld naast intieme bronzen werken die emoties tastbaar maken. Debuut abstracte schilderijen Voor het eerst presenteer ik mijn nieuwe abstracte werken, waarin gelaagdheid en tijd zichtbaar worden. De tuin: een plek van tijdloze schoonheid BIG Art & Garden, voorheen bekend als DeHullu-Beelden in Gees, is al meer dan 30 jaar een begrip op het gebied van sculpture gardens. De tuin, oorspronkelijk aangelegd door de familie De Hullu, combineert Engelse landschapsinspiratie met een doordachte indeling waarin kunst en natuur harmonieus samenkomen. Sinds 2024 onder nieuwe leiding biedt BIG Art & Garden niet alleen indrukwekkende exposities, maar ook een brasserie en een inspirerende locatie voor evenementen, workshops en rondleidingen. Dear friends and collectors, With pride, I invite you to my major solo exhibition, Sculpted by Time, a comprehensive overview of my work, where time, self-awareness, and connection come together. Time shapes us, just as it shapes the world around us. It softens memories, deepens experiences, and gives form to our identity, both visible and invisible. Sculpted by Time is a reflection on this ongoing transformation. This solo exhibition brings together photography and sculpture in an exploration of the human experience. From intimate portraits to monumental bronze figures, the interplay between the individual and the collective is at the heart of the work. Through photography, I captured the faces of others, mirrors in which I searched for traces of myself. Faces filled with mystery, vulnerability, and strength, revealing hidden truths. The female form, celebrated, examined, and reimagined, has become a recurring theme in my work. A journey to uncover the feminine in all its complexity. In The Ones, connection takes on a tangible form. Bronze figures, sometimes intertwined, solitary, but always in dialogue, represent the visible and invisible threads that bind us to one another. ✨ For the past nine months, I’ve been working intensively on my most ambitious sculpture to date: SWAY. Standing eight meters tall, this piece has been an immense personal and artistic journey. Realising it was a physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding endeavour, a monumental undertaking that I now share with pride. SWAY forms the heart of this exhibition, embodying the culmination of everything my work has led to in recent years. At the centre of this journey stands SWAY, the soul of the exhibition. An eight-meter-tall figure holds a swing, an object that is at once playful and profound. The swing, suspended in silence, invites movement. It calls for participation, for surrender to rhythm. Between the weight of the past and the lightness of the present, between grounding and flight, SWAY creates space for reflection, freedom, and the rediscovery of the child within ourselves.
